Hi, I’m Roanne — a licensed Sun Life financial advisor, a proud Bulakenya, and the heart behind Yellow Umbrella. I’ve been in the financial industry since 2019, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping over 140 clients nationwide take steps toward financial security and peace of mind.
My journey here wasn’t typical. I graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and worked as a Sales Consultant before making the life-changing decision to pursue financial advising. I was searching for something more — a career that gave me both purpose and balance. That path led me to Sun Life, where I found both.
But more than work-life balance, this career held something deeper for me.
Why I Chose This Path
Ever since I was young, I’ve had a passion for managing money and being intentional with finances. I also experienced the realities of life early on — working while studying, and witnessing firsthand how financial struggles affect families.
When my grandfather passed away due to liver cancer, it opened my eyes to how critical life and health insurance truly are. The pain of losing him was one thing, but seeing how unprepared we were financially made the lesson hit harder. That moment sparked something in me — I knew I wanted to help others avoid the same uncertainty and hardship.
My Mission
Today, my mission is simple yet deeply personal:
To help Filipino millennials and Gen Zs master budgeting and personal finance with ease.
Through Yellow Umbrella, I offer guidance with sincerity, compassion, and honesty — no judgment, no pressure. I believe financial literacy should be accessible and empowering, not overwhelming.
I believe financial literacy is not just about numbers — it’s about creating choices, protecting dreams, and building a future that aligns with your values. My mission is to make that journey less overwhelming and more empowering, one conversation at a time.
